ECR conducts drive in Jharkhand to stop transgender people from harassing train passengers

East Central Railway divisions like Sonepur, Danapur, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Dhanbad, Samastipur etc., launched a massive drive in which 85 transgenders were caught in trains harassing passengers and fined Rs 64,000.

East Central Railway has arranged for more such events in future as well.

Notably, transgender persons in long-distance trains harass and inconvenience passengers and sometimes even insult those who do not give them the minimum amount of Rs.10.

Three or four of them get on the bus, clap their hands violently and force the passengers to cough up their money. They make vulgar faces, and their gestures and postures only offend girls and women passengers.
